My name is Kathy Redmond and thank you for visiting Tangled Tranquility. Let me tell you a little bit about myself…
I have been married to a really great guy for more than half my life. We have two daughters, all grown up and on their own and a great son-in-law. Both daughters are amazing, independent and lovely women – we are very proud of them. We are up to three grands – two girls and one boy. I’m here to tell you, being a grandparent is everything you’ve ever heard and so much more! We are also a home of five dogs – two cairn terriers and three mini schnauzers. I love bird watching – so don’t be surprised to find photos or references to birds in my posts.
I can choose from an alphabet soup of letters to put after my name – it just depends on what I’m doing. I have a bachelors’ degree in interior design, am NCIDQ certified and licensed and registered to practice interior design (though I don’t.) I completed my MBA in 2011 while working full-time – I never said I was sane. I am a passionate advocate for education of high school students about the consequences of impaired driving and speak regularly for a program called Sudden Impact. I got my CZT (certified Zentangle teacher) in February of 2011. I just wanted to learn Zentangle from its founders, Rick and Maria, and had no ambitions about teaching. After attending the CZT workshop, I realized it was important to share and pay it forward. So here I am. Welcome and I hope you are inspired to join me in my quest for tranquility.

Hi Kathy! I love what you said about going to CZT training because you wanted to learn from Rick & Maria, but now you want to share it with others and “pay it forward.” I, too, went to CZT training for my own enrichment, though I knew that it would be something I could utilize with my elementary art students. Now, however, I want to share with a wider audience and am working to establish a teaching business outside of my day job at the school.
Your blog is beautiful, and I have enjoyed everything I’ve read (and seen!)so far. Beautiful tangles! Can’t wait to see/read more!

Kathy,
I would like to talk to you about a Zentangle Workshop for Quilters and Fiber Artist in St. Gabriel, Oct 8th or 22nd of this year. My sister would teach the Zentangle inspired quilt and would like to talk about your input if your interested. Please email me as soon as possible. Tjhis is still in planning stage.
